About NHBB
The National History Bee & Bowl is organized by International Academic Competitions (IAC) and is one of the most prestigious history-focused academic competitions in the United States.
Questions span all eras and all regions: American history from colonial times to the present, and world history from ancient Mesopotamia through the 21st century.
The History Bee is an individual competition where students buzz in to answer toss-up questions. Correct answers advance players through elimination rounds to the national championship.
The History Bowl pits teams of four against each other in head-to-head matches with toss-up and bonus rounds, similar in structure to Academic Team or College Bowl competitions.
Unlike NSB, NHBB uses open-ended answers โ no multiple choice. Players buzz in and must verbally provide the correct name, date, place, or term within the time limit.
NHBBPractice replicates the buzz-in pressure of real competition with authentic questions, multiplayer rooms, and instant feedback so you can build speed and accuracy at the same time.
